After training at home for a week we heard that all national competitions for this year as well as our World Cup have been cancelled 💔 due to COVID-19, and the World Championships have been postponed untill an unknown date. We hope to make our comeback on a later date.
The British renowned choreographer Ellie Cooper, who created our balance choreography in december, came to the Netherlands in our spring break to give the gymnasts at our club Acro Academy some cleanings of their choreography. She not only helped us perfect the routine she created, but also finetuned our other routines choreography!
I am also an assistant coach, and in our spring break in february I assisted in a few training sessions for many gymnasts in the north of our country of different clubs and competition levels. I also gave choreography and technical tips.
Yes! After some hardship and a broken first metacarpal bone we worked really hard and succeeded in qualifying for the senior World Championships. Mare, Fei and I scored the highest total of the day and are really proud to represent our country in Geneva, Switzerland from 29th till 31st of may!
The internationally known world class coach (and world class judge) Dmitrii Vinnikov has been to our club many times. This year he gave us a lot of training sessions, of which I am grateful, because in my new team we are learning wonderful new things and he gives great advice.
The British club Spelthorne Gymnastics is one of the best clubs in the world, and host of many World and European champions. Our club Acro Academy traveled to Great Britain with three teams and we were one of them. Their top choreographer Ellie Cooper created a wonderful new routine for our balance exercise!
I have never been more proud!! Anna Koster and I got a silver medal at the European Age Group Competitions in Holon, Israel. After the qualifications we were at the 4th position, so we tried our hardest to perform a good routine on finals day – and we did it!! Silver in Age Group II!
